Expansion through exploring and creating a "reboot"

Last week I introduced the 31 day challenge and today marks day 10 of those 31 days.

I must admit, this was exactly what I needed to reboot myself.  Honestly, since I got back from Thailand last month I have had a very challenging time getting myself back on schedule and back on gear.  My lack of motivation last month has taken quite the 360 and I owe it to the start of this new challenge.

So far I have checked out a number of new fitness classes in town, like Malibu Yoga Shala and trapeze school in Santa Monica.  I have also checked out so many awesome places in downtown LA that I have never been to like the rooftop of The Standard and this awesome art installation called 'Liquid Shard' at Pershing Square.  I have also implemented a new newsletter for my business, taken a website development class and started reading a new book.

Reflecting back on these last 10 days has helped me see that taking the time to make a conscious effort and do something different helps create an expansion.  It’s through this expansion that we grow.  I always say that if you are not exploring you are not expanding and this challenge has helped me explore so much more therefor allowing me to expand so much more.

Auto pilot is easy and we all do it.  It’s how often we do it that we have to look at.  Are you just going trough the motions or are you living with intent and awareness?  Are you checking out or are you checking in?   Training the mind to make a conscious effort to keep exploring and trying out new things does take some effort but the reward is growth.  When we try out something new “Auto pilot” is not an option we have to take control, we have to be present and it’s through this presence that we can help ourselves become more aware.

I am going to challenge you to add something new today, something you have never done.  Once you have done this, check in.  Notice how it makes you feel.  What does it bring up for you and how does it help expand you?  You don’t have to do 31 days in a row, just start with 1 thing and see where it goes.  I have noticed that by making the commitment to one new thing a day it actually ends up igniting a ripple of new things which I find amazing and so fulfilling.  

Give it a try, let it expand you.
